Ranger Suarez starts for the Red Sox carrying a 3.15 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP and 105 strikeouts in 100 innings, and he has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last four turns, including four scoreless innings against Toronto on July 26. Chicago counters with Luis Castillo, who was traded from Seattle and carries a 5.06 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP compiled entirely with the Mariners this season. Tonight is his first start for the White Sox. A unit and a half sits on a team that is genuinely a losing home club this season at 27-29, and Castillo is walking into a brand new clubhouse making his White Sox debut, which cuts both ways: no White Sox track record to lean on, but also none of the fatigue a pitcher accumulates deep into a season with one team. Chicago is also not without pop; a road team can still win a single game even at 25-33, and this is the same White Sox club that took two of three from a division contender two weeks ago.
