2026 MLB Free Agency Tracker
Sunday, January 5, 2026 | Off-Season CoverageThe Big Picture
We're deep into the Hot Stove season now, and the landscape of Major League Baseball is shifting dramatically. The biggest names have found new homes, but there's still plenty of intrigue as teams look to fill out their rosters before Spring Training opens in mid-February. Here's where things stand as we head into the final stretch of the off-season.
The Dodgers, as always, have been aggressive. They've reloaded their pitching staff after losing key arms to free agency last year, and their lineup remains one of the most feared in baseball. The Yankees responded with their own splashy moves, while the Mets continue to spend like money grows on trees in Queens.
World Series Odds Update
Heading into the 2026 season, the early futures market has settled into some familiar positions. The Dodgers lead the pack at +450, with the Yankees right behind at +550. The Braves (+700) and Phillies (+800) round out the favorites in what looks like another wide-open season.
The most interesting value might be in the middle tier. Teams like the Orioles (+1200), Guardians (+1400), and Padres (+1600) have all made significant off-season improvements and could be dark horses come October. If you're looking to take a shot on a longer price, those are the spots to watch.
Spring Training Preview
Pitchers and catchers report in just over a month, with full squad workouts beginning shortly after. The Cactus League and Grapefruit League schedules have been released, and we'll start getting our first look at the new rosters in late February. Until then, the Hot Stove continues to simmer with trades and minor signings rounding out contending rosters.
